“Pomegranate Cottage” is a beautiful ‘two bedroom’ traditional Turkish Cottage/Villa to rent in Dalyan, located just minutes from the main town of Dalyan on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast.

Perfectly suited for young families as there is no swimming pool and the cottage is completely contained in its own grounds.

The Propery has a large veranda at the side of the house, there are two slopes leading to the cottage and garden, making the cottage wheel chair friendly.

The cottage has 2 bedrooms; one double room with an en-suite bathroom and another twin bedded room, both with adequate storage.  Plus both the lounge and dining/living area, has a comfortable three-seater sofa which easily turns into a double bed, so the cottage will comfortably sleep six and a cot can be provided on request.

As well as the en-suite bathroom, there is a separate bathroom, which has also been modernised with a large double headed shower unit, plus toilet and wash basin.

The kitchen has been completely refurbished and is fully equipped, including an electric oven & grill, with a gas hob; a large fridge/freezer; kettle, toaster and washing machine etc., plus there are plenty of dishes and cookware to accommodate 6 people or more.

The lounge contains a modern TV, (where a hard drive etc, can be plugged in) and a DVD player; there is also a music system in the living area, where you can plug in an MP3 player or your phone etc.

All new tilt & turn double glazed windows and patio doors have been recently fitted, all complete with fly screens. Every room in the cottage and on the veranda has powerful fans, plus there is air con in the dining/living area as well.

The cottage offers a rare opportunity to escape the pace of modern life; sit on the large veranda in the sun and relax, or if you prefer you can sit in the shade, the veranda offers both. There is a comfy settee and chairs on the veranda, plus a large table and chairs, so you can relax with a meal or a drink, or lie on one of the sun loungers.  There are more sun loungers to enable you to relax in the tranquil garden, which is planted with many shrubs and trees, including of course, a Pomegranate tree.

There is also a “Chardak” or “Kosk”, which is a traditional, cool and comfortable Turkish wooden seating area, filled with cushions; there is also a BBQ area in the garden.

The kitchen has recently had patio doors fitted, with steps leading down to table and chairs in the secluded breakfast/dining area, with a comfy bench to read or while the hours away.  There is also a table and chairs in the garden if you wish to eat or drink in the shade of the trees.

There is no swimming pool at the cottage – therefore, the cottage is totally safe for young children. It is also self-contained with a walled garden all the way around the cottage and a gate, also making it safe and secure for young children.

For those who like to swim in a pool, many of the Hotels will let you use their pools for free, especially if you buy a drink or snack whilst you are there – however some may charge a small fee.

Wi-Fi is available in the cottage.

The traditional charm of the cottage is enhanced with traditional wooden ceilings and the use of local stone throughout the house and garden, marrying the old with the new perfectly.

Testimonial

If you want somewhere a bit different away from the busyness of Dalyan this is a perfect and well equipped cottage, on the edge of Dalyan but only a 10 minute walk to the centre. Rural and quiet, apart from the odd chicken or two!

It’s extremely well equipped with an excellent shower and fully fitted kitchen. Garden is spacious and there are a number of areas to sit and catch the sun, at all times of the day.

Hilary our host is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and went out of her way to make our trip easy, arranging transfers from the airport and back due to our late flying times.

Dalyan is a magical place having a very special atmosphere and everyone we met was very friendly. Boat trips are plentiful and the protected beach at Izuzu is spectacular.

We would have no hesitation in coming back to both Dalyan and this fabulous cottage

Welcome To Dalyan

Dalyan is a perfect choice for people looking for peace, tranquility and to enjoy nature, the village was originally a small Turkish fishing village but became famous thanks to the Loggerhead Turtle which nests on the nearby beach. Unlike other resorts Dalyan still retains its traditional roots.

Dalyan has a wide variety of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and budgets, with many of them overlooking the river, which runs through Dalyan and is only a short walk from the cottage. Many of these offer splendid views of the River and the famous Lycian Rock Tombs.  Every Saturday Dalyan has a lively market selling everything from vegetables to ‘designer’ goods, all at reasonable prices. You will also find many other small markets with a wide range of goods, at nearby towns and villages, which can be easily reached by local bus or car.

Dalyan achieved international fame in 1987 when developers wanted to build a luxury hotel on the nearby İztuzu Beach, a breeding ground for the endangered loggerhead sea turtle species. The incident created major international storm when David Bellamy championed the cause of conservationists such as June Haimoff, Peter Günther, Nergis Yazgan, Lily Venizelos and Keith Corbett.
